The $1 million Mega Millions ticket sold in New Jersey for Tuesday’s $625 million drawing was purchased at a convenience store in Hudson County.

The lucky ticket was bought at Prime on Garden on Garden Street in Hoboken, New Jersey Lottery officials said Wednesday.

It was one of nine second-prize tickets sold around the country. No one hit the jackpot, pushing the top prize for Friday to an estimated $750 million with a cash option of $550.6 million. The jackpot will likely climb higher due to brisk sales.

If someone wins, it would be the second-largest Mega Millions prize and at least the fifth-largest in U.S. lottery history.

The winning numbers drawn Tuesday were: 12, 14, 26, 28 and 33. The Mega Ball drawn was 9 with a Megaplier of 2X.

Nine $10,000 tickets were sold for Tuesday’s drawing in New Jersey. The third-prize tickets matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball and were bought at the following locations:

  • New Farmers Market on Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City
  • Shore True Value Hardware on New Road in Somers Point
  • QuickChek on Hackensack Avenue Hackensack
  • 7-Eleven on North High Street in Millville
  • QuickChek on Washington Avenue in Belleville
  • 7-Eleven on Bound Brook Road in Middlesex Borough
  • 7-Eleven on Route 35 in Holmdel
  • 6-12 Convenience Store on South Main Street in Marlboro
  • Lincoln Center Liquors on Comley Road in Lincoln Park

Mega Millions tickets cost $2 each and in New Jersey must be bought by 10:45 p.m. on the evening of the drawing. The odds of a ticket hitting the jackpot by matching five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 shot to win the second prize of at least $1 million by matching five numbers.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
