Apple’s iOS 15 Will Change Email Marketing

Apple recently unveiled its iOS 15 software, which rolls out this fall. Most of the new features focus on privacy, data tracking, and user security. Two features, “Mail Privacy Protection” and “Hide My Email,” will dramatically impact email marketing. I’ll address both in this post.

Mail Privacy Protection will offer iOS 15 email users the option to load remote content privately and not disclose their IP addresses. The result will block the sender’s ability to track opens and forwards and will mask the recipient’s IP, which determines the physical location.

Shein Shoves Amazon Out Of Top Spot

While SHEIN may not be the household name in eCommerce that Amazon is in the U.S., it has managed a feat that few other retailers have pulled off: It managed to displace Amazon from the top spot in terms of app downloads.

PYMNTS’ latest Provider Ranking of Shopping Apps reveals that as of last month, fast-fashion app SHEIN holds that No. 1 spot, while Amazon is at “hot on its heels” at No. 2 as it beefs up its eCommerce offerings with things like third-party subscription boxes.

Super Bien Wine Bar and Grocery Store to Open at the Speedway in Brighton

The team behind Buenas, the empanadas-and-more shop at Somerville’s Bow Market, is expanding to another outdoor marketplace this summer, opening a wine bar and grocery shop called Super Bien at the forthcoming Speedway in Brighton. It will feature South American wines and dishes made with Buenas’s own products, which are South American-inspired (and go beyond the empanadas for which the shop is best known).
