Food giants, including General Mills, pushing online sales to study consumer habits

Packaged-food giants including Kraft Heinz, General Mills and Kellogg are pushing sales of their products to consumers directly via their own online channels, in a quest to gather more data about shoppers’ purchasing habits.

Velveeta-cheese maker Kraft Heinz saw its e-commerce sales double in 2020, now representing more than 5% of its global sales, Chief Executive Miguel Patricio said at the virtual Consumer Analyst Group of New York (CAGNY) conference last week.

The company sells Heinz baked beans and tomato soup by subscription or in bundles directly to consumers on a “Heinz To Home” website in the United Kingdom, Australia

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The countdown for Jersey Mike’s SUBS grand opening in Springfield is just under eight weeks away, according to the project manager for the new store.

“We’re about two months out,” said Doug Richards of Genesis Construction in an interview with Smokey Barn News on Monday. “The weather delayed us a little but get ready for some good sandwiches Springfield!” Richards added with a big smile.

Lady Sunshine, a floral boutique on Frisco’s Main Street, is set to open in March. After working at a floral shop in the Vail Valley, owner Maddie Snyder decided to open her own store in Summit County. While the business will mainly focus on floral arrangements for both individuals and events, the store will carry other gift-type products that can be paired with bouquets.
