Dallas investors take high-profile Preston Center shopping strip

A Dallas investor has snapped up a high-traffic North Dallas retail center.

Stockdale Investment Group bought the 15,000-square-foot shopping strip on busy Northwest Highway in the Preston Center business district. The shopping center has tenants including Preston Center Animal Clinic, Verizon and Ticket Finders.

The property had been in the same hands since the 1950s. It was sold by the Lobello family, one of the original developers of the Preston Center shopping district.

Foot Locker to buy two shoe store chains for $1.1 bln

Aug 2 (Reuters) – Foot Locker Inc (FL.N) will buy two smaller shoe store chains for a total of about $1.1 billion in cash, the footwear retailer said on Monday as it looks to expand its business beyond malls and extend its reach in Asia.

The company is buying California-based WSS for $750 million and Japanese streetwear retailer Atmos for $360 million, it said in separate statements.
