SANTA MARIA, Calif. – As shoppers continue splurging at one of the most popular shopping locations in Santa Maria, there’s still more construction happening at the Enos Ranch Shopping Center.
“The shopping center has been constructed for a couple of years, and there’s one remaining building pad that has yet to be built on,” said the director of community development Chuen Ng with the City of Santa Maria.
That final building under construction located next to the Urbane Cafe will soon become a new Jack in the Box.
“I think it’s great for the kids. Not for me. But I think it’s great that the community is growing,” said shopper Deborah Anderson.
The shopping center remains busy with packed parking lots daily,
“It’s a successful shopping center. It generates a lot of foot traffic and a lot of customers,” said Ng.
Chick-Fil-a has been attracting hundreds of drive-thru customers often waiting in long lines.
But city developers don’t believe the new jack in the box will cause any major traffic concerns in the shopping center.
“And so we expect the shopping center could still accommodate an additional restaurant,” said Ng.
While Kirkland’s is closed at the shopping center, city developers say there are several tenants looking to fill that space.
“Yeah we expect it’s going to be retail … we don’t have names of those tenants yet … but I know the shopping center is working hard to have that space filled,” said Ng.
Customers are excited to see more businesses coming to Enos Ranch.
Jack in the Box is expected to open this summer.
